The 66th Annual Meeting of the Brazilian Society for the Advancement of Science (SBPC, in Portuguese) will be held from July 22nd to July 27th 2014 at the Federal University of Acre, in Rio Branco, Brazil.
The main theme for this edition is “Science and Technology in an Amazon Without Borders”.
Being held since 1948, with the participation of representatives of scientific societies, authorities and managers of the national science and technology system, the Annual SBPC Meeting is an important forum for the diffusion of science advancements in the different fields of knowledge, and a forum for discussion of public policies for science and technology.
The scientific program usually includes conferences, symposiums, panels, meetings, special sessions, mini-workshops, and poster sessions. Other activities also take place, such as Young SBPC (program for high school students), ExpoT&C (science and technology exhibition) and Cultural SBPC (performance of regional artistic activities and discussions of culture-related themes).
Each year the Annual SBPC Meeting is held in a different Brazilian state, but always in public universities. The event brings together thousands of people – scientists, professors, teachers and students of all levels, independent professionals and visitors.
