The Ciência e Cultura magazine was created in 1949, one year after the foundation of SBPC. Its editorial line aims at contributing for the discussion of current scientific themes and to attract the attention particularly of new generations of researchers to a continuous and systematic reflection on such topics.
Being published quarterly, its editorial space is divided into four areas: Core theme, in which articles with different approaches to a specific theme are published; Articles and essays, focusing on current scientific themes; News, which brings an overview of what is happening in the world in the universe of science and culture; and Cultural expressions, with articles, critiques, and reports on trends in literature, theater, cinema, visual arts, music, television, new media, etc.
